Jensen Beach

Jensen Beach is a quiet, quaint riverfront community only minutes to the beach by bicycle or car. The "Pineapple Capital of the World" is what it is known best for.

Downtown Jensen Beach is considered the "Pineapple Capital" of the world.  As you stroll along the sidewalks deciding where to eat or which shop to stop in, you will notice the pineapple theme everywhere.

This passion for pineapples can be traced back to 1881, when the first pineapple slips were planted by Capt. Thomas E. Richards at his Eden homestead.John Laurence Jensen emigrated from Denmark in 1888 and set up his pineapple plantation here, which eventually became the town of Jensen.  14 years later, Jensen was shipping over 1 million boxes of pineapples each year during the June and July season, earning the town the name “Pineapple Capital of the World.”

"Jammin' Jensen" is the happening spot every Thursday night with live music, arts and crafts, food and fun!  It's a must see if you're visiting Jensen Beach.
